Colorado 2012 Part 1

Laura and I took the last week in May to visit the great state of Colorado.  We flew in and out of Denver, spent some time in Denver visiting Laura's great aunt, and drove a rental car to Ouray to visit Brooke's family.

Our route.  Note that this is my idea of a non-roadtrip vacation.

The Denver Art Museum.  This turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.  It was an excellent museum with a great collection.

Fort Worth

This last weekend we drove over to Fort Worth to show off the museums to a friend of ours from Korea.  It was a great weekend to go visit.  Some pics:

Mid Century Lego House

Dwell Magazine just hosted a contest in which the objective was to build a mid-century Californian house out of legos.  Here is my entry (which was inspired by Case Study House #22 designed by Pierre Koenig):

Bridges, Gardens, and Spring

In the past two weeks we have celebrated the opening of the Margaret Hill Hunt Bridge, planted gardens, bought a bike, and enjoyed the spring weather here in Dallas. 

First up is some photos from the Party on the Bridge celebration which opened up Dallas' new bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava for a pedestrian street fair.

Gardens:

Our Vegatable garden out back by our deck.  Three tomato plants, two pepper plants, and lots of green beans.
