IF - Boundary

It fascinates me what can constitute an urban boundaries.  In a large number of cases the natural terrain influences the artificial development such as the mountains and ocean in Rio.  But the artificial can bound the natural – a prime example being the parks in New York City.  Here is an illustration I did of Bryant Square park from directly above:
